Friends of Ingraham raises crucial funds during our Annual Fundraising Appeal
November 1 - November 23
Your support is vital to ensure that Ingraham students and staff have the essentials needed to create a supportive learning environment. Make your donation now – thank you!
We all know the district is facing steep budget challenges. With the support of Ingraham families, Friends of Ingraham is able to help fill the funding gap to meet critical and essential needs, as well as provide enhanced learning experiences that our students would otherwise never have access to.
Our $75,000 goal this year will primarily support three efforts:
Community Grants - In our first grant cycle of 2024, FOI received 25 requests for funding and was able to grant ober $23,000. During the 23-24 school year, FOI awarded $62,000 in Community Grants for over 50 different requests submitted by our amazing educators and staff.
Bright Futures – For Ingraham students who are experiencing poverty or homelessness/ housing insecurity, this program works with our school counselors to fund basic needs such as food, hygiene items, clothing, and rent assistance, as well as experiential needs like sports uniforms, graduation caps and gowns, prom, and yearbooks.
Staff/Teacher Appreciation – Our teachers and staff work SO hard to provide a safe and successful learning environment for our kids! FOI provides staff and teacher appreciation events each month during the school year.
We invite EVERYONE in our community to contribute! We suggest a donation of $250 per family. Your support – of any amount – will help reach our $75,000 goal. Every gift that is meaningful to your family makes a difference.
Kick-off party! Sunday, Nov 3, 5pm – 8pm at Broadview Taphouse! Get yourself a delicious beverage and a food truck dinner while meeting IHS families and learning more about how FOI supports the school. Ingraham staff will also be invited to hang out with us!
Teachers Share How FOI Grants Impact Your Students
In these days of budget cuts, FOI’s role in providing extra support in the classroom has been invaluable. Over the years, I have had many grants approved, including ones that streamline my grading practices, benefit my students’ learning, and help other math teachers with their planning. All of that would not have been possible without the support of FOI grants.
– Bee Lim, Math Teacher & Education Technologist
Since IB Film is a small class and because Seattle Public Schools gives practically no funds to Fine Arts courses, the Film program has a budget of $0. FOI has been incredibly supportive when I’ve needed to buy expensive cameras, lighting equipment, sound equipment and to replace broken items when necessary. I want students to have the opportunity to make films that look and sound as professional as possible; FOI has allowed for this to be a possibility. If not for Friends of Ingraham, our IB Film program would probably not exist at all. The Film students and myself are incredibly grateful for the never-ending support!!!
– Paul Franklin-Bihary, Filmmaking: Art and Story, Photography, IB Film Teacher
The funding that FOI has awarded Proyecto Saber and Familias Latinas de Ingraham HS has made it possible to provide underrepresented students and their families with lessons, activities, and meetings that empower them to become more involved in the Ingraham community.
– Diana Romero, Proyecto Saber / Latinx US History Teacher
FOI grants made it possible for Ingraham’s Euro Challenge Club to travel to the national semifinals in New York City in 2023 and 2024. The students will never forget their experience. Thank you!

A 2024 FOI grant bridged a significant funding gap for crucial French class materials – I have a (recent! High-quality!) textbook resource for the first time in the 13 years I’ve been teaching at Ingraham and my students are benefiting so much.
